What is Kraft Paper?

Note: Our brown/white Kraft paper features an EVOH barrier, which makes the flat pouch non-recyclable after use. The thin plastic coating is added to enhance the moisture resistance of the flat pouch, especially when used to package food products.

Why is Kraft paper still more eco-friendly than other materials? Kraft paper is made from cellulose fibers, which naturally contain lignin—a substance that causes paper to yellow over time. In traditional paper production, lignin is removed through chemical processes to prevent yellowing. However, this step is not required for brown Kraft paper, making its production inherently more environmentally friendly.
